Promising Young Woman

  • Date: 22 April
  • Time: 18:30
  • Location: Filmhuis Den Haag

Much has changed since the first wave of feminism in the Netherlands. According to the law, there is no longer any difference between men and women, but in practice, a woman is murdered every eight days, 16% experience sexual misconduct every year, and women often do not feel safe on the streets.

The UNESCO Youth Committee is shining a light on this problem by organising a film evening in collaboration with Filmhuis Den Haag that is entirely dedicated to feminism.

The film ‘Promising Young Woman’, directed by Emerald Fennel, will be shown on the big screen. A confrontational and much-discussed film that shows how sexual violence and gender inequality are often trivialised or ignored. The film asks tough questions about responsibility, power relations and the way our society deals with transgressive sexist behaviour.

Afterwards, we will discuss the film with a panel and with you!

We welcome everyone on Wednesday, 22 April 2026!

Ticket prices: from €5.00

Will we see you there?
