What an experience our first Kaam Kari La: Wrapped in Heritage x Keffiyeh Sari event was! We learned, shared, and connected in so many ways. Thanks to Tabaria Café and Tatreez Language, we gained a beautiful insight into Palestinian culture. Together, we exchanged stories about our backgrounds, experimented with saris, and created something symbolic — a photoshoot featuring the keffiyeh sari as a gesture of solidarity.
It was deeply moving to see people of all ages and identities come together to stand with Palestine.
On Monday 27 October, we return to Amare for the Wrapped in Heritage x Keffiyeh Sari Photoshoot Exhibition — showcasing the stunning portraits of participants from the first event. The original keffiyeh sari will also be on display.
The evening will open with remarks by Anima Jhagroe-Ruissen (Amare), and DJ Mo Dubs will set the atmosphere with music. Artist Ruby Joemai will be present with a stand featuring unique keffiyeh scarves and Kwie Kwie shirts.
Come together, connect, and support.
