What is Orange the World

Orange the World is the global campaign by UN Women to end violence against women and girls. The campaign takes place every year from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day.

The days in between are known as the 16 Days of Activism. In more than 100 countries, buildings and landmarks are lit up in orange during this period, and numerous activities are organised — including debates, exhibitions, demonstrations, and fundraising events.

Funds are also raised for the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women, the largest global fund dedicated to preventing and ending violence against women and girls.
