Thana Faroq - Open Letter “تمرد هادئ” (A Quiet Rebellion)

The season opens with Open Letters 2025 with ‘تمرد هادئ’ (A Quiet Rebellion) by Thana Faroq. This poetic letter, written in the voice of Thana's mother, invites reflection on memory, displacement and silent resistance. With sensory details like the smell of henna and a glance through the car window, the text evokes a moment of tenderness in the midst of war - a loving protest from mother to daughter.

Prior to the unveiling, Thana will give a short reading together with poet Randa Awad, embedding the letter in a shared space of words and testimony.

Open Letters is an annual project by Page Not Found that offers artists and writers in The Hague a platform to share urgent and vulnerable messages.
