What is PeaceTech Hack?
PeaceTech Hack is where technology meets peacebuilding. These hackathons bring together developers, designers, entrepreneurs, peacebuilders and changemakers to co-create tools, discuss emerging tech, and tackle real-world challenges in the PeaceTech space. Whether you're flying solo or part of a team, you're welcome—no predefined challenge required. Expect a fast-paced, collaborative environment with 20–40 participants and big ideas.
This Edition: The City Forum
On Monday, June 16 from 9:00-21:00, PeaceTech Hack 2025 will start in The Hague for a one-day sprint to create a City Forum prototype — a digital public square designed for local engagement, collaboration, and civil discourse.
In today’s world, public interaction in cities has largely moved to social media platforms, which often lack neutrality, safety, and local context. The Just Peace Festival is looking to change that with the piloting of a City Forum MVP during the festival, creating a space that feels more grounded, inclusive, and civic-minded—both online and offline and this hackathon will kickstart that vision!
Why Join?
This is more than just a hackathon—it’s a chance to:
- Collaborate with fellow innovators, founders, and creators
- Prototype impactful tech solutions with real-world application
- Connect with an international network of PeaceTech enthusiasts
- Contribute to a city-wide platform for peace, justice, and civic dialogue
Whether you're looking to test an idea, build your portfolio, or find your next collaborator, this is your launchpad.
