Over the past year, vawongsir has travelled across different places, meeting people forced to leave their homeland for various reasons: refugees waiting for asylum approval, Ukrainians displaced by war, Chinese exiles of the White Paper Movement, and Hongkongers who relocated worldwide after the social movements. For them, “home” is no longer a stable place but a condition constantly redefined and rebuilt.

This September, vawongsir presents his solo exhibition “My Home Is Not My Home” in The Hague, Netherlands. The exhibition reflects on how diasporic individuals construct new forms of order in unfamiliar lands, resist uncertainty through everyday small acts, and search for grounding in a constantly changing world.
