Keffiyeh-sari fotoshoot

Part 1: Panel Discussion & Workshop (14:30 - 18:00)

We will start with a panel discussion and an open dialogue about rediscovering and revaluing our cultural dress:

  • Ruby shares her search for her Indian roots, her experience with sari draping, and how she learned to love her culture through clothing.
  • Ghenva Alkabra from Tatreez Language takes us on a journey through the 4,000-year-old tradition of Palestinian Tatreez embroidery – an art form, an identity and a form of resistance, woven into every thread.

Together with the audience, we reflect on the meaning of our traditional clothing and explore how we can keep that connection alive.

This is followed by the heart of the event: Ruby's sari draping workshop. Learn her unique concept of duo draping dance, discover how to combine a sari with your everyday outfits, and reclaim the sari as a daily, personal expression of who you are.

Part 2: Keffiyeh Sari Photo Shoot Evening (7:15 p.m. - 9:15 p.m.)

Then step into the studio and wear Ruby's keffiyeh sari, styled especially for you!Have your portrait taken by photographer Kevita Junior, framed by a beautiful floral installation by Emma Jones (Petals for Palestine). Take home a professional photo – an image that reflects your solidarity and your story.

Tabaria Café pop-up with Danielle Maxwell Fraser
