Road to Summit, The Hague programme of Peace and Justice

Road to Summit

While The Hague prepares for the arrival of the NATO Summit, a local program is taking place in the lead-up to the event. This includes activities focused on Peace and Justice for everyone in The Hague, under the banner "Road to Summit."

All kinds of things to do in the city

With The Hague being the international city of Peace and Law, Road to Summit is an ideal open stage for everyone with activities to give substance to Peace and Justice.

Debates, lectures, exhibitions, music, film and dance performances and creative competiotons will take place in the period between January and June 2025, addressing various themes related to Peace and Justice. Most of the activities will take place in the final weeks leading up to the summit, culminating in the Just Peace Festival.

Connection

Road to Summit also provides space for reflection.

By engaging in open conversations, we try to approach Peace and Justice with each other from a new perspective. We explore alternative paths to sustainable peace, also by asking complex questions.

What is NATO's role with regard to global security? What does peace really mean?

We look at themes such as countering polarisation where there is room for open conversations and different opinions. We look at where we can reduce contradictions by connecting and continuing to talk together and understand each other better.

“Especially now it is so important to connect and continue to work together for Peace and Justice.” - Mayor Jan van Zanen.

Road to Summit collaboration

A collective initiative from the Municipality of The Hague in cooperation with Humanity Hub, Just Peace and other partners, organisations and cultural institutions in The Hague in the city.
