War Requiem - Commemoration of 80 years of liberation
- Date: 04 May
- label.tijd 19:45 - 21:45
- Location: Amare

May 5, 2025, marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. The Residentie Bachkoor commemorates this historic moment with Benjamin Britten's War Requiem in collaboration with Toonkunstkoor Utrecht.
The War Requiem is one of the most impressive classical works of the twentieth century. Britten combined the Latin text of the Mass for the Dead with poems by Wilfred Owen, a poet who died in the First World War. In doing so, he made a powerful statement about the futility of war and the importance of reconciliation. A message that is all too relevant eighty years later. This program can also be seen on May 3 in Vredenburg Utrecht.
