A young mother documents her life in war-torn Aleppo over five years, capturing the struggle of raising a child while witnessing the horrors of the Syrian civil war. As she films her experiences, including her husband's work as a doctor amidst bombings, the footage becomes a letter to her daughter, reflecting on love, sacrifice, and survival in the face of unimaginable hardship.

This screening will be introduced by Dr. Hanne Cuyckens, expert in international law with a primary focus on international humanitarian law. She has written her PhD on the law of military occupation. Her further research more generally looks at contemporary issues of armed conflict, including where these issues might interact with terrorism. Hanne currently serves as educational director of LUC.
