Access to Justice in the Region of The Hague

The Hague Freedom Weeks is the umbrella title of a series of activities in The Hague on topics related to freedom, peace, democracy, the rule of law and international legal order. From Friday 11 April to Saturday 10 May 2025, more than 120 activities are on the programme. On 2 May, as part of this, we will hold a mini-conference ‘Access to Justice in the Region of The Hague’.

Sandra van Heukelom-Verhage, chair of Pels Rijcken, and Martijn Scheltema, attorney-partner and professor of human rights, will host this meeting. They will discuss with various guests the nature of the problem of access to justice and possible creative solutions, such as using new technologies, including AI.

Practical information: The mini conference is freely accessible. However, registration is required. The meeting will last approximately 1.5 hours. Doors open at 14:30.
